Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to your new 5th grade classroom. I have been working overtime in order to facilitate a smooth transition for my students. I am excited to be working with such a diverse group of students and looking forward to a year full of exciting new endeavors.
I’d like to tell you a little about myself. My name is Mrs. Elizabeth J. Perdomo. I was born in Philadelphia, PA to Argentinean parents and have lived in the South Florida, tri-county area almost my entire life. I have been teaching for over 10 years and would not even think of ever changing my profession. I am passionate about teaching and learning and will make it my personal goal to make this year one of the most successful your child has had thus far.
In order to know your child better and gain insight to help guide my teaching, I am asking for your help. If your child has any special needs or concerns, please let me know as soon as possible. Please feel free to write anything that you feel would be important for me to know about your child’s likes, dislikes, inclinations, or deficiencies in any particular subject area.
Attached, you will find information regarding our classroom policies, procedures, and expectations to discuss with your child. I know this can be an overwhelming amount of information, but rest assured, it is necessary for you to review and understand in order for your child to achieve maximum success. Please return the last form of the attached packet immediately so that I may update the information given to me by your child’s previous teacher.
